The Germans from Volkswagen have unleashed their latest set of wheels— Golf GTD. This is without a doubt a car that will appeal immensely to those looking for the Volks GTI style clubbed with the economy and efficiency of a diesel engine inside. Shedding some of the speed of the GTI, the GTD is powered by a 2.0-liter, 170 hp turbo diesel engine with 258 lb-ft of torque and a fuel economy rating of 44 mpg. Racing from 0 to 62 mph in a leisurely 8.1 seconds, this is more about saving cash rather than chasing criminals. With a 6-speed manual gearbox, an optional 6-speed DSG, posh interiors styled in black and white and low carbon emissions, the GTI will appeal to the daily city commuter who looks for efficiency, economy and ergonomic design that fits into smaller parking spaces.

Audi R8 is pretty badass on itself, but not for the wicked tuners from Wheelsandmore. The 13,998 euros tuning package adds a compressor to the whole deal, making the beast pump nothing less than 530 horsepower. But it’s not only about power, because it features a braking system with 8-piston calipers at the front, 6-piston ones at the back, and high-performance pads. If all these are not enoguh and you still have more of those hard earned greenies, Wheelsandmore will add an aluminum race suspension for 3,999 euros or a 8,949-euro hydraulic lift full-race suspension, a 5,500 euro front lip spoiler and rear diffuser (carbon fiber) and two sets of 20-inch alloy wheels ranging from 9,250 to 9,800 euro.

MEC Design has brought out its latest aero kit for the Mercedes Benz CLS Class. The entire gear comes with an extended front skirt, a chin spoiler with a choice of fog lights or mesh inserts, flared fenders, special MEC designed wheels and a choice between a sports diffuser or a rear bumper at the back. For most parts, the new aerodynamic additions add very little other than extra bulk on the CLR and with beyond a 40-70mm lowered suspension and a few tweaks to the exhaust; this is unlikely to set the pulse racing for the Mercedes fans. Is it just another muscle-up job for an amazing coupe sedan?

Trying to be ahead of any other hatches in the European market is no easy task, but Renault seems to have the right ingredients for an amazing car. Just a few days ago in Geneva, the latest Renault Megane RS has been unveiled to the public and everyone seemed to love it. Inspired by the Trophy racer Megane, the new RS is definitely meaner and faster. With an agressive front grille splitter and big arches, a center-exit exhaust within the diffuser, bulging side sills and some intriguing two-tone alloys, you’ll have to admit that even if it’s a French car … it’s a damn good looking one.
