BMW Z2

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

bmw-z2BMW are working their butts out to bring a new concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and it’s not just any concept. It’s a BMW Z2 roadster that will be built on the same platform with the new 1-series with lightweight materials (should weigh less than 1,000 kg) and technology that should offer both power and fuel efficiency. Suposedly sent forward by MINI’s full range of 1.6-liter engines and a high-speced new twin-turbo 2.0-liter that outputs 250 hp, the new BMW Z2 is expected to cost you a good $30,000 when it’s going to be available in 2013.

novitec-tulesto

The wicked tuners at Novitec, have put together a pretty daring plan to build a supercar. Renowned for their ability to make Ferraris even better than they are, the new TuLesto (why such a bad name?) is expected to sport a 4.4-liter four-valve V8 with two superchargers that output 777 hp and send it 0 to 60 mph in 3.4s before reaching a max speed of 350 km/h. With a lightweight body frame made of carbon-fiber and aluminum, some 20- or 21-inch Novitec wheels and a lot of resemblance with Ferrari 430, the new TuLesto is definitely worth a look. We’d only wish they’d build more than 11 units …

Mercedes S63 and S65

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Mercedes have sure got us going with the first leaked shots of the 2010 S63 and S65 set to be shown off later this moth at the Shanghai Motor Show. Under the hood of the S63 will be a 6.2-liter V8 giving 518 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque and if that does not fill your appetite for power then the S65 gets the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine good for 604 hp and a stunning738 pound-feet of torque, probably a lot more than you wished for!
But the real highlights come in the form of distinct LED light strips, a more aggressive front fascia with an enlarged air gulper and bespoke grilles which vary for both cars. While we do not yet know what kind of a whole they would burn through our pockets, expect the prices to be similar close to $131,350 and respectively $198,950.

2009 NISMO 370Z

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

The Nissan 370Z Coupe got its NISMO update like all the performance cars from the company that came ahead of it. I think it’s very cool car!! While most of the tuning up has been done outside the hood and on the body of the car, the 3.7-litre V6 engine under the NISMO 307Z’s hood unleashes 350 hp at a torque of 5200 rpm; a step up from the 332 hp output of the same engine in the Coupe version.
