Oh, the feeling of actually seeing a coupe variant for the Mini Cooper, riding the streets! We’ve already seen an SUV version and now – ending our long wait – we managed to get our hands on the first official images of the Mini Coupe Concept. It looks like the coupes are gaining popularity again, for a Prius Coupe is also in the ranks as per speculations.

The Mini version is set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and the typical Mini style is evident with a trademark front end. Mini Coupe should come with an aluminum roof with a reverse ball cap which is pretty much a radical side. It has massive wheels that can also be spotted with a rear bumper and twin centre-mounted exhaust pipes.

MINI Coupe will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine which will produce 211 horses and 260Nm of torque. More to it, there is an overboost functions which can increase the torque 20 notches. The Coupe will be able to clock 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and 6 seconds when the overboost is applied.

BMW 320d EfficientDynamics

Dealerships in Germany, Spain, France and Italy will be offering a 320d EfficientDynamics Edition alongside the usual 320d edition. The EfficientDynamics edition is said to be the most fuel-efficient and lowest emission BMW in the current model range. This edition is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine assisted by an aluminum crankcase, a diesel particulate filter, common rail direct fuel injection with piezo-injectors and variable intake geometry.
This amalgamation of technology takes the maximum power to 163hp churned between 3,500rpm and 4,200rpm. Also, the maximum of torque of 360Nm is available from 1,750rpm to 3,000rpm. Consequently, the 0 – 100km/h time is 8.2 seconds and the top speed is 225km/h. The efficiency factor is furthered with the use of Brake Energy Regeneration, the Auto Start Stop function, a shift indicator and electronic power steering which function as one only when required.

Hybrid commuters are sprouting from every corner of the globe which eventually is great for the otherwise depleting world. The latest name belonging to the category is the BMW X6 Active Hybrid which is powered by a 400 hp 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine in combination with two electric synchronous motors (rated at 91 hp and 86 hp).

As a consequence the X6 Active Hybrid has a combined maximum output of 480 hp with 575 lb-ft of torque. So despite being a hybrid it accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds while it can reach a top speed of 130mph (electronically limited). With the incorporation of the Hybrid powertrain, there is a 20% improvement in the average fuel consumption with the CO2 emissions rating at 231 grams per kilometer. At lower speeds only one of the motor comes into usage and it is only when more power is required, that the second motor starts the combustion engine. Other interesting features include an electronic power steering system, an Auto Start/Stop system, a modified suspension and a lightweight braking system. There is also a powerdome hood and 20-inch light-alloy Aero wheels. The sales for the car are expected later this year.
