The Corvette C6 GTR

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Specter Werkes is working up its magic on the Vette again and unlike the GTR it came up with last summer, the one that it will showcase SEMA on November 3 will be a deadlier version. The BASF Pearl Blue exterior color and HRE CF40 carbon fiber wheels on the exterior will give it a desirable look on the outside but what matters most is what it gets under the hood — a 7.0L LS7 V8 at the heart with a twin-turbo setup from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering renders a mind-boggling 800 horsepower. To keep all those ponies in safe place, the Vette C6 GTR comes with StopTech brakes at the front and the rear. On top of that a revised exhaust system was also mandatory to accommodate that much power and Specter Werkes have used a Corsa option for assistance in this case. Mind-blowing, eh?

Kia Cadenza

The luxury sedan which goes by the name of K7 in Korea, the Kia Cadenza (also called the VG Sedan) has hit the web with its first images and a limited set of details. This sporty and sleek luxury sedan takes inspiration from the KND-5 Concept with external features like an LED headlight surrounds, a bold grille and an upscale design.

However, a lot more work has been done on the interior of the Kia Cadenza where the floating dash is glorified with some avant-garde high-tech adaptations that include a heating steering wheel, automatic defogging of the windshield and ventilated front seats. The engine choices will probably include a 175 hp 2.4-liter Theta four-cylinder and a 273 hp 3.5-liter Lambda V6. These engines will power both the FWD and AWD options. This design upgrade as per the company officials is reflective of the continuing evolution in Kia’s striking design language where the lights and lines are blended.

Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI Carbon has broken cover in Tokyo but to everyone’s surprise the engine is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox to spoil the fun of driving on the back of a monster. Based on the A-Line special edition, the STI Carbon chooses a carbon fiber roof instead of the normal panel which lowers the centre of gravity and simultaneously reduces the weight of the vehicle. As far as the interior goes, unlike the standard STI, the STI Carbon is lined in suede. Under the hood is a 2.5L four-banger that produces 296 hp. The manual gearbox version slated for the US will render 305hp. Subaru is calling it the display model but the A-Line derivation for the automatic gearbox will be a part of the production facility rolled models as well.
